About Steven Goldstein

Steven GoldsteinHello. I’m Steven Goldstein, founder of Enable Internet. So, what’s my story? Well, I’ve spent the last decade working in the marketing communications field. I got my start at a digital marketing agency back in 1998. Since then, I’ve made the rounds at other agencies large and small, a Fortune 1000 company, and even freelanced for small businesses and non-profits. I’ve advised large and small clients on internet marketing strategy, managed hundreds of web projects, and even designed and developed websites from scratch. I love the Internet. I’m an information junkie who loves to learn. My first computer was a Commodore 64. The hard drive weighed about twenty pounds or so. Like many marketers in 2007 and 2008, my career was affected by the changes in the economy. In early 2009, it seemed like a good time to start my own agency, Enable Internet, to help companies use the Internet to grow. Although I worked on web projects and embraced Web 2.0, it felt like something was missing. So, I went on a rigorous journey of self-discovery. Later in 2009, I began to learn about sustainability and the movement inspired me. I asked myself some key questions. What does it mean for a business to communicate responsibly? How can an organization committed to environmental and social sustainability approach the marketing process? In 2010, I re-launched Enable Internet to help green businesses let go of traditional mass marketing and use the Internet to meaningfully engage consumers and build community. I teach organizations how green marketing and internet marketing intersect. Green marketing is not just about selling the benefits of green products and services or about using less energy and material in the marketing process. It’s about communicating values honestly, transparently, and responsibly with all stakeholders. I believe business can build honest relationships with society and the environment. I am excited to help green businesses tell their story and do it.
